Ms. Howard

Port Towns Elementary

“I teach an enthusiastic group of 4th graders at PTES and am one of the creative writing coaches for the CSTEM Challenge. PTES is a Title 1 school that provides educational opportunities to students from a wide range of cultural and ethnic backgrounds. My students enjoy hands on activities and greatly benefit from interactive lessons that incorporate content area and the arts. Basic school and art supplies are in short supply and your generousity will provide opportunities for students to participate in real world activities that enhance the curriculum such as baking (to incorporate math, science and reading to follow directions) and art projects (to create educational memories to help provide conrete learning to abstract topics). Choosing to assist Ms. Howard's Class is choosing to acknowledge the importance of merging content area, planning, arts, crafts, and hobbies into motivating learning experiences that prepare students for the future.”
