Mrs. Siegel

Charleston High School

“Hello! I'm the art teacher at Charleston High School. While I always strive to request materials that are the best value, there are some supplies and pieces of equipment that are prohibitively expensive without a lot of help. This is especially true for ceramics--which tends to be a popular medium.

I also would like to bring my art curriculum into the 21st century, and be able to incorporate more reliable technology in the classroom. I'd love to have students keep digital portfolios and process-folios of their work, and for them to be able to incorporate photography, digital art, and stop-motion animation. Having a class set of tablets with a decent camera would make this a lot easier.

Thanks for all the help!”

Drawing Supplies

I strive to allow students to work with the best quality supplies that I can afford, but there are some supplies that are very popular and yet costly. I'd love to allow students the opportunity to work with copic pens and other alcohol-based inks. I also would like to be able to provide them with good quality mixed-media paper that will withstand some wear and tear.

Ceramics and pottery is always a popular medium, yet the start-up costs can be very expensive. I'm looking to purchase a table-top slab roller, a small pug mill to recycle clay, and new potter's wheels (several of the ones that I have are not reliable in how well they work).

A class set of tablets would provide students with reliable opportunities for various digital art endeavors. A high quality color printer to print student photographs and digital art would also be advantageous.
