Here is what we need

Your contribution will help Mrs. Chavez's Super Students get essential resources for students, including those below:

Classroom Supplies

What we need the most is: 25 of the 3" or 4" three ring binders; student dry erase boards; dry erase markers, sharpies, and wet erase markers; additional needs include: student scissors, spiral notebooks, composition notebooks, tape, rulers, paper clips, electric pencil sharpeners, erasers, pencils -- classroom supplies are the fuel for learning in every classroom. Please help us get these essentials.

Class sets (25) of the following Novels: Holes, Hatchet, Tuck Everlasting, Number the Stars, Esperanza Rising, Maniac Magee, How to Eat Fried Worms, Tales of the Fourth Grade Nothing, The Watson's Go to Birmingham 1964, The Giver, Bud Not Buddy, Habibi, Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry, Charlotte's Web, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes, The Upstairs Room, A Wrinkle in Time, The Boy in the Stripped Pajamas, Where the Red Fern Grows, Junebug, Island of the Blue Dolphin, My Side of the Mountain, Julie of the Wolves, Touching Spirit Bear, I am David, Walk Two Moons, Because of Wine Dixie, The Tale of Despereaux, Bridge to Teribithia, The Whipping Boy, any Newberry Medal Books, any historical fiction, any multicultural or diversity novels, and (4-5 of any) other novel sets at 2nd-6th grade reading levels, especially award winning books. Novels open the world to -- and develop -- young readers. What a wonderful resource to provide our students!

Children's Books

Picture books based on diversity, multicultural, environmental, historical fiction, nonfiction, or otherwise educational in some way! These books help teach life lessons about sharing and kindness for those developing minds.

Science Books

Students are so curious about the world around them. Science books help them make sense of it all: geology, chemistry, astronomy, biology, etc.

Supplementary Books

These books help keep my students engaged and learning! These books reinforce what we learn in class by providing fun and challenging activities.

Biology Equipment and Supplies

Equipment and consumables to teach biology and biotechnology. Includes: DNA/RNA/PCR application kits, reagents, chemicals, lives, preserved specimens, microscopes, electrophoresis, liquid handling, centrifuges, mixers & tubes.

Safety Equipment and Supplies

We want all our students to be safe when they are doing experiments. We need things like gloves, aprons, goggles, eye wash, fume hood, etc. Thank you for your help!

Elementary Science Resources

The products and supplies needed to teach K-6 students science. Products include: microscopes, prepared slides, butterflies, plant and animal models, K’Nex, and manipulatives to teach math concepts

Career Technical Education & STEM

This is a huge area of need! STEM is one of the fasting growing career areas but not enough students are entering the field! I'm Nationally Certified as a STEM teacher through Project Lead the Way, but I lack many of the STEM materials I need to properly engage my students! Needed are all of the equipment and supplies to teach STEM and prepare students for STEM related careers. Examples include: robotics!!! (I'm a certified robotics teacher, but I need more kits-especially VEX kits & software programs), K'Nex, anatomical models, microscopes, calculators, biotech kits, etc.

Headphones would let our students hear music clearly -- others' and their own.

Assistive Technology

Class set (25) of laptops, or ipads, or Chromebooks; audio players or recorders; timers;

Class set (25) of laptops or ipads. 21st technology for a 21st century education

Media Supplies/ Storage

We need a way to store and transport all of our media supplies and equipment.

Document Camera

Document cameras let us present, record, scan, and share. This would make my classroom so much more efficient and exciting.

Notebook Computers

It's the 21st century, and we need computers. Notebooks are a great choice fo us because students can use them at their desks, and we can move them from one classroom to another.

Everyone is publishing great educational apps for tablets, and the kids love them. We would love to get tablets for our classroom!

Computer Accessories

We need accessories for the computers. Mouse, cables, thumb drives, and all those little -- but essential -- things.
