Special Education Resources

Every child deserves whatever they need to learn, to develop, and to succeed. Your contribution will help those students reach their greatest potential.

Assistive Technology

Assistive Technology and Augmentative Communication Devices would be beneficial to our speech therapy and exceptional children's program due to the number of students with Autism, some nonverbal. Preschool-school aged.

My wish list definitely includes products from Super Duper, Inc. from South Carolina. I would be ever so grateful for a gift card from Super Duper to enable me to purchase speech therapy materials, flashcards, games, and supplies which would benefit all the students I provide speech therapy to at Hobbton Elementary School.

Critical Thinking

Early Academics

Life Skills

Behavior and Social

Notebook Computers

The therapy room at Hobbton Elementary School could certainly benefit from a new laptop computer to use in speech therapy and for the exceptional children's paperwork. The laptop I use now has been noted by the technology department at our school as very old. At this time, the battery light continuously flashes orange and it cannot not be used without turning off unless it is plugged in to an electrical outlet. That makes ease of portability difficult!! It's the 21st century, and we need computers. Notebooks are a great choice fo us because students can use them at their desks, and we can move them from one classroom to another.

Students in speech therapy would certainly benefit from IPAD(s) and Apple IPAD Gift Card(s) to download the spectacular APPS available for speech therapy. Many of the families in our rural area in North Carolina cannot afford IPADS at home however, having them at school during speech therapy sessions would be an added advantage. APPS such as Articulation Station, Articulation Games, School of Multi-step Directions, Speech Tutor, Farm academy, Factory of Categories, Social Skills with Billy, and Articulation Vacation to name just a few are speech/language therapy apps I would love to add to my therapy sessions to enhance communication abilities in preschool and school-aged students. Helping these precious students to build their self-esteem while encouraging them to be successful communicators is my desire.

We need software for our school computers. Without that, they are just big paperweights. Please contribute to give our students the tools they need to work.

Computer Accessories

We need accessories for the computers. Mouse, cables, thumb drives, and all those little -- but essential -- things.
