Mrs. Moody

Horizon Elementary

“I am blessed to work as the Elementary Support Specialist at a Title One school with over 700 kids!!! Together we embark on new experiences each day. My kids are who they are. The school has a very diverse population of students that face obstacles of homelessness, gangs, hunger, and violence. The streets that surround my school can be very dangerous and inviting to students who don't feel successful within our walls, and making our school feel like a safe, welcoming environment is one of the greatest missions I have.

Many kids struggle with focusing and giving 100% of their attention to the teacher in the classroom.
Some bring experiences from outside of our schools walls, unable to forget about the scary, unsafe events that occur in the home or community. Regardless of their challenges outside of school, these students are amazing, hopeful and hardworking.”
