Mr. Meyler

P.S. 132 Juan Pablo Duarte School

“I am a teacher in an inner school where all students are entitled to free meals. I teach in the 4th grade and it is hard to teach when we dont have the right things that we need. There is only so much that teacher get from the city and out of our own pockets. There are times where we dont have enough chairs and desks. We have computers in the classroom which is great but the print cartridge is really expensive($75). Another big thing lacking in my classroom are class set of books. It is fun to read and have each student look at the words and hopefully when they see it again they will know it.
We are not really allowed to write on the chalk board so there is no need for chalk. We have to cover the board with dry erase sheets and that also isnt so cheap and again that comes out of our pockets. Im hoping for a good school year!”
