Welcome Teachers!

ClassWish.org, an exciting new nonprofit, helps teachers, PTAs/PTOs, teams, bands, clubs and schools attract donations from parents, local businesses, alumni and others in the community in order to provide the resources students need to perform at their best.

How it Works

  • Teachers and PTA/PTO leaders, create a Wish List of the supplies you need for your classrooms. It's as easy as shopping online.
  • ClassWish helps you spread the word to parents and other supporters.
  • Visitors see exactly what is needed and how they can help.
  • Contributions are tax-deductible and donors receive a receipt.*
  • Many companies match employee contributions, and that can double the funding.
  • Teachers and PTA/PTO leaders visit http://ClassWish-Vendors.org to submit a request for the items you need.
  • ClassWish has the supplies sent to you at your school.
  • Donors can see on your Wish List which supplies you received.

The result? You get the supplies you need. Parents and communities are united in helping our students learn, grow and perform at their best.

About Write-In Donations

  • Many donors visit the site to donate to help a particular classroom, club, band or team, and find that the teacher has not yet created a Wish List.
  • We therefore invite visitors to write in the name of a teacher or student activity.
  • Contributions are tax-deductible, and donors receive a receipt.*
  • Many companies match employee contributions, and that can double the funding.
  • We notify the teacher and direct the money to their Wish List account.

About Donations for School Needs

  • Many donors visit the site and want to donate to help students at a particular school and find that the administrator or PTA/PTO has not yet created a Wish List.
  • We therefore added a School Needs section to each school page.
  • Contributions toward School Needs are tax-deductible, and donors receive a receipt.*
  • Many companies match employee contributions, and that can double the funding.
  • We credit the full amount of those donations, less a credit card processing fee of 2.9% and 30 cents) to an account for the school.
  • We notify the Parent Teacher organization (if the school has one) or the Principal and provide directions on how to use the funds to obtain needed resources from our Catalog or from any of our vendor partners, which are listed at http://ClassWish-Vendors.org. In the case of funds for field trips, we send a check to the school, less a 5% handling fee, at the end of each month that the balance totals at least $50.
  • ClassWish has the supplies sent to the school.

Easy steps to start receiving the support you need:

  1. Search for your school. (Many have similar names, so searching by zip code is easiest).
  2. Click "Teachers, Create a Wish List" and follow the instructions.
  3. Add items to your Wish List.
  4. Be sure to add a photo and an introductory paragraph, as they help attract more donations.
  5. Visit the Wish List Toolkit for ideas about spreading the word to parents and other potential contributors.
  6. Donors can recommend particular items, but ClassWish lets you apply donations toward your most pressing needs. Once you receive donations, you can request items by either (a) clicking Request next to any items on your Wish List or in our Catalog, or (b) following our directions and shopping on a number of online stores listed here »
