“Hello! My name is Ms. Worthy and I teach at Spingarn Senior High. I teach for many reasons, but I want to focus on the singular truth of my students, my school, and my responsibility as an English teacher.
The average reading level of my 9th grade class is a 4.3 reading level. (That's fourth grade).
The average reading level of my 11th grade class is a 8.5 reading level. (That's eighth grade).
My students are behind; really behind. As an English teacher, I see an incredible challenge and the bigger opportunity to significantly raise their reading level - right now. My students have to grow an average of 2 reading levels a year in order to graduate on grade level - and that's our Classroom Goal.
In order to reach that goal, we need your help. If you would consider supporting our classroom, please know that it will benefit the lives of truly amazing students and a teacher who will be endlessly grateful for your generosity.
Thank you! :)”

I have two classrooms and I find that chart paper to be extremely useful in my instruction. Because I have only the use of 1 whiteboard in both of my classrooms, I use chart paper as a space for important information that I want to keep posted up for future use. Learn more »
Sharpies will allow me to make posters, write on chart paper during instruction, and use for all other general purposes. Teachers need markers all the time! Learn more »
